Russia is halting pork imports from three US plants, one owned by Tyson Foods Inc. and two that are units of Smithfield Foods Inc., the USDA said.

Russia will not accept pork shipments as of December 31, from Smithfield's Farmland Foods plant in Monmouth, Illinois, a Smithfield Packing Inc. plant in Smithfield, Virginia, and a Tyson Fresh Meats plant in Waterloo, Iowa, the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service said today on its website.
