Australia's wheat stocks on a rise
Wheat grain stored by bulk grain handlers in Australia rose in November as the 2009 harvest continues.
At the end of November, Australia's bulk storage of wheat grain was estimated at 10 million tonnes, more than two and a half times the amount stored at the end of October, according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
Total milling wheat grain stored by bulk grain handlers was 8.6 million tonnes, and total feed grain stored by bulk grain handlers was 1.4 million tonnes.
Bulk storage of wheat in New South Wales was nearly 4.1 million tonnes, while Victoria recorded 337,000 tonnes of stored wheat at the end of November. Queensland and South Australia recorded 1.2 million tonnes and 1.7 million tonnes of stored wheat, respectively. Western Australia recorded nearly 2.7 million tonnes of stored wheat grain.
Nearly 8.6 million tonnes of the stored wheat grain was for milling, and 1.4 million tonnes was for feed.
