Argentina's corn doing well after recent rainfall
Corn planting is progressing well, with farmers taking advantage of improved conditions to plant 80% of the area seen going to the crop.
This was reported by the Agriculture Ministry on Monday, listing conditions as of December 17.
In the important corn area of Marcos Juarez in Cordoba province, "rain arrived just in time to keep up hopes for good yields and conditions are generally very good."
The Agriculture Ministry forecasts total corn area of three million hectares, while the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange sees commercial corn area at 1.95 million hectares. The Rosario Grain Exchange sees total corn output of 13 million tonnes.
