Exports

In the past two weeks, quotes for the export market were around US$14/kg. Quotes for bigger export quantities were lower by at least US$1/kg while some producers would offer long-term customers prices as low as US12/kg.

Market forecast

Export deals are concluded in the range of US$12-13/kg, a reasonably good price that will lend support to domestic prices. Vitamin C market is expected to be doing relatively well in 1Q2009, particularly when major producers are expect to take turn to shut down operations for plant maintenance.
