Philippine Corn Usage Up, Wheat Down

A U.S. agricultural attache for the Philippines has reported an expected decline in the country¡¯s wheat consumption this season, while corn usage rises.

Philippine corn production is expected to reach record levels this year due to good quality corn seed and generally favorable growing weather conditions during the period.

Higher yields and increased area planted are expected during the period, enhanced by higher-than-usual local corn prices.
