Taiwan Feed Group Seeking US Corn
Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group is seeking offers by 0700 GMT Wednesday to make a purchase of 42,000 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 corn, said a trader in Taipei who received the tender notice Monday.
Shipment dates will be Feb. 16 to March 1, 2004 from the Pacific Northwest, he said.
Friday, a Taiwanese feed company bought 47,000 tons of U.S. No. 2 yellow corn from Mitsui in a tender. The company bought 37,850 tons at a premium of 164.50 U.S. cents a bushel to the Chicago Board of Trade March contract, cost and freight. The remaining 9,150 tons were priced at $162.98/ton, C&F. In that deal, shipment periods are Feb. 1-15, 2004 from the U.S. Gulf, or Feb. 16 to March 2 from the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
