QL Group managed to boost egg production this year by entering a joint venture between QL Resources Berhad of Malaysia and CV Trimitra.
The collaboration has increased populations of laying hens to reach 60% of the total installed capacity of 1.6 million bird's cage.
Cecelia Mochamad Wn, Chief Operating Officer (COO) QL Group, said that, although still relatively new player, egg production company continues to increase. "Egg production now reaches 30 tonnes per day," he said on Wednesday (Oct 31).
When compared to the average production of eggs in the previous quarter, egg production has increased QL Group. In the first quarter of 2012, the company produced eggs an average of 15 tonnes per day and a 20 tonnes per day in the second quarter of 2012. With an average productivity of 30 tonnes per day in the third quarter of 2012, QL Group estimates, production in the last quarter of this year reached 35 tonnes per day.
QL is one egg producers and animal feed in Malaysia. This company's website said, currently, QL operates eight integrated farms in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. In addition to producing eggs, QL is also engaged in the business of processed fish and oil palm plantations in Indonesia.

In addition to producing eggs, QL also has chicken breeding business or day old chicken (DOC) with a capacity of 1.8 million per month. Of that amount, 80% is used for internal company and the rest is sold.
QL also has partnered with 100 broiler breeders. Just for the record, the current price of broiler DOC and low, DOC Wealth IDR1,250 (US$0.13) per head, while the broiler IDR12,500 (US$1.3) per kilogramme.
But for the price of eggs, according to Cecelia, still 11.5% higher than the start of last year. Currently the price of egg production of QL Group is about IDR14,000-14,500 (US$1.45-1.5) per kilogramme, compared to the beginning of last year the range of IDR13,000 (US$1.3) per kilogramme.
