Cupric sulphate

Copper sulphate market was quiet as buyers withheld purchases after prices increased during late November.

Transacted prices by local producers were in the range of RMB16,100-16,300/tonne ex-factory, while deals concluded in the general market were at RMB16,600-17,000/tonne.

End users are likely to stock inventories during late December, supporting copper sulphate prices to stay stable or move a shade higher.

Zinc sulphate

Supplies of zinc sulphate tightened amid limited availability of raw ingredients, hence holding prices firm of late.

Transacted prices by major producers were mainly at RMB4,700-4,800/tonne ex-factory. In the general market, traders concluded deals in the range of RMB5,100-5,300/tonne.

With supplies seen tight prices of zinc sulphate should remain stable.

Manganese sulphate

Although manganese ore prices were weak, trade improved as several buyers stocked inventories, albeit prudently. Hence, manganese prices stood unchanged lately.

Transacted prices of humidified manganese sulphate by major producers remained between RMB3,300/tonne and RMB3,600/tonne ex-factory. General market prices remained at RMB3,700-4,100/tonne.

Demand is expected to be stable in the coming period as animal producers prepare for releases nearing Chinese New Year.

Ferrous sulphate

Abundant supplies held ferrous sulphate prices soft during the period in review.

Ex-factory price quotes by a major producer in Sichuan were lower at RMB300-350/tonne. Meanwhile, traders concluded deals in the general market at RMB800/tonne.

Even as sales pick up in the coming weeks, ample supplies will weigh on ferrous sulphate prices.
