Russian cattle count down in November

Russia's cattle count on November 30 totaled 20.5 million, 3.3% less than the previous year, the federal statistics service said Monday (Dec 20).

The number of cows on the date was down 2.1% on the year at 8.8 million. Pig numbers were down 1.2% at 18 million.

Total meat output in Russia in the first 11 months of the year, including cattle, pork and poultry in live weight, totaled 9.1 million tonnes, up 5.8% on the year.
