Georgia seen to become country-corn exporter in 2012
Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili forecasted that Georgia will turn into a country-corn exporter from 2012.
He said that Georgia will be able to fully replace imported corn and become a country-corn exporter in 2012.
Baindurashvili said that corn is feed for animals. This process will have an impact on prices.
Next year, the state plans to spend GEL40 million (US$22.71 million) to buy corn and wheat seeds.
