Probable joint venture for Dutch dairy co-ops Friesland and Campina
Dutch dairy cooperatives Friesland and Campina have announced a likely merger next year, a deal which could create one of the world's largest milk co-ops with over 17,000 members in Holland, Belgium and Germany.
The new co-op, to be called Zuivelcooperatie Friesland Campina, is expected to produce about 9 billion kilograms of milk and have a turnover of over 8 billion euros.
If the merger talks go ahead, the venture would move in the middle of 2008.
