Guyana poultry farmers overcome stunted poultry growth
Investigations by authorities in Guyana have found that lack of certain feed nutrients in poultry feed have killed chickens or led to stunted growth.
The problem was traced to a lack of feed nutrients causing a large number of dead and stunted chickens. A vaccination drive involving the distribution of vitamin supplements to small-scale broiler producers is proving to be effective and ongoing, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Agriculture Minister Robert Persaud said that the Agriculture Ministry would source one million doses of vaccines and work with small poultry farmers who are most affected.
