Vitamin C prices rise from historic lows in China

As several producers halted or cut production of late, supply tightened considerably. Several buyers increased stockpiles, helping to perk up prices from historic low levels.

As of December 16, offer prices for pharmaceutical-grade vitamin C rose to RMB26-27/kg.

Buyers will continue to accumulate inventories that are low before the Chinese New Year holidays.
