Quanzhou delivers more than 60% of imported Taiwaneseaquaculture products to the rest of China

 
 

According to the Quanzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, 33,000 tonnes of aquaculture products,amounting to US$24.84 million,have been imported from Taiwan to Quanzhou, Fujian, from January to November this year.

 

Since the first batch of imported Taiwanese aquaculture products had arrived at Quanzhouin 2007,Quanzhou port has been experiencing a rapid growth in this segment over the past seven years. It is interesting to note that only 105 tonnes of Taiwanese aquaculture products were imported in 2007, compared to the present 33,000 tonnesfrom January to November.

 

More than 60% of the imported Taiwanese aquaculture products are then delivered to other parts of China, such asGuangdong, Zhejiang and Shanghai, from Quanzhou.

 

Quanzhou Port has imported 16,000 tonnes and 12,800 tonnes of frozen sauryand squidrespectivelyin the first 11 months, making them the two most popular imported aquaculture products enjoyed by the Chinese market.
