Cargill welcomes opening trade with Cuba

 

 

 

Cargill has expressed support for the United States' plan to resume diplomatic and trade relations with Cuba.

 

"It will create a new market for US farmers, ranchers and food companies, and give the Cuban people improved access to affordable food," said Devry Boughner Vorwerk, a Cargill vice president and chair of the USAgriculture Coalition for Cuba, a partnership of more than 20 prominent US agriculture associations committed to normalising trade with Cuba.

 

Cargill haslong been a proponent of ending the embargo and has supported humanitarian exemptions on food shipments to Cuba.
