VevoVitall registered for use in piglet feeds in the EU
VevoVitall (the ultra-pure grade of benzoic acid) has officially been authorised within the EU for use in piglet feeds in the category "Other Zootechnical."
Incidentally, DSM is the first company to obtain a registration for a feed additive following the new centralised procedure 1831/2003. VevoVitall can be used at a dosage of 5 kg per tonne of feed to enhance the growth of piglets.
This new registration is the second approval for VevoVitall in the EU. Its use in growing and fattening pigs reduces the emission of ammonia in the environment besides benefiting EUR 1-2 per pig, according to studies.
