Pakistan returns pork-contaminated poultry feed to Italy

Pakistan's government has returned shipments of poultry feed imported from Italy after finding traces of pork in the shipment.

The country's Ministry of Commerce has allowed Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) to re-export back to Italy the imported poultry feed. Pakistan is a muslim-dominated country whose faith forbids the eating of pork.

Sources said that the ministry had asked the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) to clear the consignments at the ports.

The Ministry of Commerce has issued instructions to customs for the re-export of the imported feeds.

Pakistan's authorities has further directed the collectors that no delay or detection certificate should be issued in the above-mentioned cases.
