The recent news reports about the restrictions on exports of beef products imposed on Brazil by China, South Africa and Japan.
The company announces that in the first nine months of 2012, Brazilian exports of beef products by the Group to these countries corresponded to 0.16% of the Company's consolidated revenue.
Exports of beef products to China, South Africa and Japan will continue through units located in Argentina and Uruguay, thus not impacting the volumes sold by the Company.
The strategy of Marfrig Group as a global food company was based on diversification across geographic regions and proteins, with higher value and manufactured products accounting for 46.0% of their consolidated revenue, with a platform that enables them to overcome trade and sanitary restrictions by redirecting their production to other regions or countries without affecting their operations.
