Increased exports of cooked poultry products from China's Henan
According to data released by the Henan's Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the northern Chinese province exported 11,928 tonnes of cooked poultry products in Jan-Nov 2007, an increase of 20.3 percent compared with the year-ago period.
These exports were worth US$37.3 million, up 21.3 percent compared with the same period last year.
Market participants said that with stringent demands placed by foreign countries on safety of food products, Henan's poultry product companies such as the Yongda Group had beefed up quality controls. Export volume was still strong this year.
Besides Japan, cooked poultry products from Henan are also exported to South Africa, United Arab Emirates and South Korea.
