Chinese supplier reveals bird flu chicken came from Henan
A producer and supplier of Nanjing's "Fuzimiao" chicken disclosed today that the chickens used by his plant all come from Henan Province.
A reporter who assumed to be a client contacted the individual, a Mr. Liu, and asked for details. Mr. Liu said that his plant is an "individually operated enterprise" and that "it only received its operating permit yesterday."
Mr. Liu added that what they use to produce chicken are all from Henan. But he stressed that the chickens were covered by documents on file with Nanjing City Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, and they meet China's
imposed safety standards.
The individual also said that his plant halted production quite a few days ago because of "investigation from above," but production might resume a few days from now. However, Mr. Liu was unwilling to reveal the exact location of his plant.
