Kazakhstan has increased its grain exports by 34.5 % in 2010, according to the Minister of Agriculture in Kazakhstan, Akylbek Kurishbaev.

"From the beginning of 2010 (as of December 10), more than 8.2 million tonnes of grain have been shipped for export. When taking into account the amount of flour in grain equivalent, it is already above last year's amount by 34.5%. Thus, we continue to be a leading flour exporter in the world whereby total share of exports of grain is about 38%," Kurishbaev said.

"According to the preliminary data of the regional akims, total grain harvest has been 13.9 million tonnes with average productivity of nine c/ha and it is lesser than last year's level by 4.9ca/ha."
