Indonesia to invite Malaysia for agricultural investment

The Indonesian government will offer the Malaysian government opportunity to invest in its agricultural industry as part of efforts to stabilise national and ASEAN food security, a top official said.

Agriculture Minister Suswono said Monday (Dec 13) that the investment would focus on cultivating medicinal plants, herbs and horticulture in addition to rice and cornfields, and orchids.

Areas in Sulawesi will become the centre for investment.

Suswono said that the Sulawesi regional administrations have welcomed the investment plan.
