UK November wheat exports down on-year

UK wheat exports for October totalled 144,211 tonnes, data published by the Home Grown Cereals Authority showed Tuesday (December 15).

This takes total wheat exports for the July 2009-June 2010 marketing year to 582,380 tonnes, well behind exports over the same period the previous year, which totalled 1.18 million tonnes.

Spain remains the largest buyer, taking delivery of 83,062 tonnes of wheat in October, taking its total purchases thus far in the 2009-10 marketing year to 301,676 tonnes.

Spain was also the biggest importer of UK wheat in the 2008-09 July-June marketing year.
