Serbia's 2010 corn yield rises by almost half million
Serbia harvested 6.8 million tonnes of corn in the year that began October 1, up from an estimated 6.4 million tonnes a year earlier, because farmers planted more, according to the USDA.
Exports may rise to 1.5 million tonnes, up from 1.34 million estimated a year earlier, while reserve inventories before the next harvest will more than double to 2.072 million, the USDA said.
In 2009, Serbia's grain sector gained another record - a trade surplus of US$650 million.
