Kazakhstan cuts two-month grain inventory
Kazakhstan decreased grain carry-over stocks by 1.1 million tonnes from October 1 to December 1, 2010.
Milling grain volumes in agricultural enterprises and private households decreased to eight million tonnes. It is down by 15.5% and feed grain volumes in the country decreased by 83,025 tonnes from 917,662 tonnes to 834,637 tonnes, or down by 9%. Wheat seed fund increased by 504,328 tonnes, or from 1.3 million tonnes to 1.8 million tonnes.
As of December 1, the general wheat carry-over stocks totaled 9.42 million tonnes. Milling wheat volumes in the country decreased by 1.4 million tonnes, from 8.9 million tonnes to 7.5 million tonnes, or down by 17.5%. Feed wheat volumes in the country decreased by 21,063 tonnes, from 303,491 tonnes to 282,428, or down by 7%.
The general barley carry-over stocks totaled 674,206 tonnes. Feed barley volumes in the country lowered by 109,002 tonnes, from the level of 506,686 tonnes to 397,684 tonnes, or down 21.5%. The volumes of millet for fodder aims decreased by over two times, or down 729 tonnes, from 1,306 tonnes to 577 tonnes, or down 56%.
The general corn carry-over stocks in Kazakhstan totaled 81,565 tonnes while oat volumes are at 71,395 tonnes.
As of December 1, elevators and grain storehouses stocked 4.707 million tonnes of grains only, agricultural enterprises-3.562 million tonnes. During two months, the general balances faced the increase of stock volumes of non-grade grain mixtures, due to additional overestimations of grain volumes.
