Canadian Wheat Board sets last payments for 2008-09 crop year

The Canadian Wheat Board has issued its final payments to farmers for the wheat, durum and malt barley delivered to the CWB during the 2008-09 (August-July) crop year, as well as feed barley delivered into Pool B.

The payments represent the balance owing to farmers after their grain has been marketed through the CWB, and after operating expenses were deducted. Deposits are being made into farmers accounts on Monday, and those being paid by check can expect to start seeing their payments in the mail by Friday (December 11).

Final payments in Canadian dollars per tonne for the base grades in each pool account are as follows. The total payment is based on the value of grain in store at Vancouver, or the St. Lawrence.
