China's December soy imports seen up 9 percent to 2.83 million tonnes
China's Ministry of Commerce has upped the country's December soy imports by 9 percent from the forecast for November issued last month. This amounts to 2.93 million tonnes.
The ministry's forecast is usually lower than the actual as the estimate does not include all cargoes.
China imported 3.32 million tonnes of soy in November compared to the commerce ministry's estimate of 2.69 million tonnes.
China expects to import 22,000 tonnes of soyoil, and 48,600 tonnes of rapeseed oil in December. It forecasts soymeal imports in the same month at 39,300 tonnes and rapeseed at 30,000 tonnes.
