China lysine prices weak despite stable demand

Prices moved lower during the week ended December 11.

Demand for lysine remained stable as livestock prices continued to increase. However, prices stayed soft during the week in review while lysing output was abundant.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine reduced to RMB13.25-13.70/kg.

Although buyers are preparing for the market prior to Chinese New Year during January, lysine procurements were limited amid cautious mood. This, in conjunction with high capacity of the lysine industry, is expected to hold lysine prices weak unless soymeal prices continue to rise prominently.
