EU 2009 soft wheat crop seen at 130.8 million tonnes 

European Union 2009 soft wheat production is estimated at 130.8 million tonnes, in line with September forecasts, Comite du Commerce des Cereales, or Coceral, said Friday (December 11).

This is around 10 million tonnes lower than 2008's bumper harvest.

Total EU 2009 grain production was pegged at 292.6 million tonnes, in line with the September estimate and down from 2008 production of 309.9 million tonnes, the Brussels-based trade association said.
