Brazil's Frimesa inaugurates US$29 million slaughterhouse
Brazilian company Frimesa has inaugurated a 52-million-Brazilian-real (US$29 million) slaughterhouse in the state of Parana, a Frimesa press officer confirmed to Dow Jones Newswires on Thursday (December 13, 2007).
Frimesa which produces meat and milk products, expects to slaughter up to 6,000 pigs a day at the facility in Medianeira, according to the daily newspaper Gazeta Mercantil.
The company also expects to boost its exports 16 percent with the opening of the Russian market to Brazilian meat products, the newspaper said.
Frimesa expects to increase its revenue to US$500 million in 2007 from US$337 million in 2006.
