China lifts bird flu quarantine in Inner Mongolia region
Local authorities in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region said they have lifted the quarantine on a village formerly hit by bird flu.
No new bird flu infections have been detected over the past 21 days of quarantine, which was the longest incubation period for the H5N1 bird flu virus.
The local headquarters for bird flu prevention said Wulan village of the Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner had earlier carried out poultry culling, disinfection and epidemiological studies.
According to local authorities, the village had met national standards for lifting the bird flu quarantine.
