Australia's beef and veal exports to South Asia remain steady during November, at 14,486 tonnes.
Beef shipments to Taiwan during November remained relatively steady on the corresponding month last year, at 3,832 tonnes swt. However, exports to Hong Kong for the past month fell 62% on-year, to 604 tonnes - the fifth consecutive monthly decline. Exports to Malaysia and Vietnam also contracted during November, falling to 1,530 tonnes (down 11% on-year) and 195 tonnes (down 14% on-year), respectively. Exports to Indonesia for the month were down 9% on-year, to 3,558 tonnes.
Offsetting the lower shipments during November was increased demand from the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Sheep meat exports to South Asia (excluding China) rose to 3,569 tonnes during November - an on-year increase of 21%. The increase was supported by rising mutton shipments, at 2,291 tonnes (up 57% on-year), which offset a 14% fall in lamb exports during November (1,278 tonnes).
