Indonesia's Sinta Prima to boost fish feed production in 2013

With the new plant in Cullinan in operation, Indonesia's Sinta Prima PT Feedmill projected an increased in the production of fish feed by next year.
In the early stages, the production of fish feed at the factory will be a quarter of the total installed capacity of 15,000 tonnes per month.
Sinta Prima marketing director, Sam Hermanta said the feed mill was built since 2011. "The machine is mounted, and operations began earlier this year," said Hermanta.
This new feed mill will complement a Sinta Prima’s fish feed factory. The full capacity of the plant is 15,000 tonnes per month, with an expected 80% utilisation.
Sinta Prima is a manufacturer of animal feed for poultry, fish, and shrimp based in Cullinan, Bogor, West Java. In total, Sinta Prima produces fodder weighing 30,000 tonnes per month.

Sinta Prima markets 80% of its products to West Java and Sumatra. "We plan to build factories outside Java," said Anang .
Sinta Prima fish feed prices reached IDR7,500 (US$0.78) per kilogramme (kg), whereas poultry IDR5,700 (US$0.6) per kg.
The Association of Animal Feed (GPMT) expects fish and shrimp feed sales for 2013 to continue to grow.
