China's dried seafood sampling rate hits 95 percent

China conducted sampling inspections on 65 types of dried aquatic products with the qualification rate at 95.4 percent.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine inspected marine products such as roasted fish fillet, squid strip, dried purple seaweed and scallop in seven provinces and cities in China, including Hebei and Shandong Provinces.

According to the administration, the main problems of the unqualified products were the excessively high microbe content and the excessive use of sorbic acid and sulfur dioxide as food preservatives.
