Epicore BioNetworks appoints new director

Epicore BioNetworks has appointed Fernando Garcia Abad as Aquaculture Business Development Director.

Abad possesses 17 years experience in the industry, in both academic and production areas. He has a degree in aquaculture engineering from the Universidad Politecnica del Litoral in Ecuador and has held management positions in production facilities at maturation, hatchery and stock rearing levels.

Abad joined Epicore 12 years ago and has helped develop technical support service and business interests in Latin America.

His new role as a director is considered to benefit the company and its activities in the worldwide shrimp industry, which is beginning to focus on culturing P. vannamei - an area that Epicore has extensive experience.

Company executives said the appointment is inline with the company's global aspirations and its widening involvement in the international aquaculture industry.

Epicore BioNetworks develop and manufactures innovative biotechnology products.
