China's beef and chicken prices rise in December

The average retail prices for beef, chicken and eggs were RMB13.58/500g (US$1.84), RMB7.17/500g (US$0.97) and RMB3.57/500g (US$0.48) respectively.

China's Price Monitoring Center of the National Development and Reform Commission said that prices for beef, chicken were up by 0.52%, 0.28% respectively but egg price was down by 0.28% week-on-week.

The prices were based from 36 medium and large cities from December 3 to 7.
