Russian meat imports up 11 percent on-year
Russian meat imports totaled 1.096 million tonnes from January to October, surging by 11 percent.
The Federal Customs Service reported that the meat imports were valued at US$2.66 billion from US$2.19 billion last year.
Russia's meat imports from countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) amounted to 1.066 million tonnes, worth $2.573 billion.
Poultry imports rose 0.5 percent on-year to 1.034 million tonnes in January-October. It was valued at US$824.8 million, up from US$730.1 million year-on-year.
Meanwhile, fish imports rose to 636,800 tonnes in the period from 507,500 tonnes last year. Fish imports were valued at US$1.041 billion from US$730.6 million.
