Vietnam, South Korea boost fishery ties

 

 

Vietnam and South Korea will boost cooperation in the field of fisheries following a research collaboration agreement signed between agencies of the two countries on December 11.


According to Vietnam News Agency, the agreement includes increasing information exchange between the Vietnam Institute of Fisheries Economics and Planning and the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperation of the South Korea and boost joint study and research, while enhancing cross-visits and consultations from these two agencies.
 

Statistics released by the Vietnam General Department of Customs showed that Vietnamese exports of aquatic products to South Korea have risen by 21.8 percent which is equivalent to around US$200 million


South Korea has recently permitted 13 more seafood processors from Vietnam to export to its market, allowing 298 Vietnamese businesses to export in South Korea.
