China releases forecast on 2009-10 new corn supply
China is expected to add 163.1 million tonnes of new corn supply in the crop year of 2009-10.
The forecast was made by the China National Grain and Oils Information Centre on Thursday (Dec 10). Meanwhile, the centre also predicted that China's corn output for this year would reach 163 million tonnes, an on-year fall of 2.9 million tonnes or 1.8%.
In addition, the centre forecasted that China's total corn consumption in 2009-10 will amount to 148.14 million tonnes, an increase of 4.21 million tonnes from the previous crop year.
