Price fall slows in China lysine market

Lysine prices were lower during the week ending December 9.

Lysine producers and traders were more reluctant to cut prices in anticipation of stronger demand as feed millers prepare for pre-Chinese New Year market during January and mid-February.

Price quotes of 65-percent lysine and 70-percent lysine stayed at RMB5/kg and RMB6.30-6.40/kg respectively.

Although lysine prices have shown signs of stabilising, the market will continue to stay under pressure as soymeal prices remain weak and livestock markets underperform.

RMB1=US$0.1615 (Dec 10)
