Aviagen Asia appoints Mark Wright as new regional technical manager

Press Release

Aviagen Asia appointed Mark Wright as the new regional technical manager, effective from November 1, 2013.

Wright joined Aviagen in 2008 as a member of the Asian Technical Team servicing a diverse range of customers throughout China, South East Asia, Oceania and India.  In 2012, Wright assumed a key role as the project manager for Aviagen Australia. During the stint, he oversaw the expansion project and was directly responsible for building a new great grandparent and grandparent farm, together with a new hatchery to meet the business growth and ensure supply of high-quality breeding stock for both the local and a number of future export markets.

"My role as Regional Technical Manager for the Asian region is to provide technical and specialist service to assist our customers and help them maximize bird performance within their own operations," Wright commented, "I welcome this opportunity and understand we have several service options consisting of farm visits, seminars, workshops, schools and sometimes a visit to another customer's facilities to highlight best practices that may influence customers and achieve their production goals."

Wright is a graduate from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Science. Before joining Aviagen, he had 18 years of working experience with Tegel Foods Ltd in New Zealand, the poultry integrator with the leading share of the domestic market. He started his career at Tegel as a livestock cadet and serviceman prior to assuming the responsibility of rearing, and then as a farm manager for both chicken and turkey production in the company. He was later promoted to be the manager of both broiler and layer breeders, and subsequently accepted the role of Turkey Livestock Manager.
