India's state trading corp issues tender to import wheat

India's state-run State Trading Corporation has issued an advertisement Monday in national newspapers inviting bids for a global tender to import an unspecified quantity of wheat.

The last date for submitting bids is Dec. 17.

Friday, a government official told reporters that STC may buy up to 550,000  tonnes of wheat in its tender.

Details of STC's tender regarding the quantity of wheat and shipment arrival schedules are likely to be posted on the company's Web site later Monday.
