China to boost chilled-pork supply to Hong Kong
Hong Kong's Food & Health Bureau has reached a consensus with the Mainland authorities to increase the chilled-pork supply to satisfy local market demand.
Prices would be determined by the market.
The Hong Kong Government was concerned with live-pig supply recently as demand swelled.
Authorities are reportedly discussing the issue with importers.
Hong Kong's live-pig supply has been stable ,with about 4,000 heads imported each day.
Overall pork supply in Hong Kong is adequate, officials said.
