Ample supply, flat demand drags down China methionine prices
Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending December 7.
Demand for methionine was slow as poultry market stayed weak. Feed millers were not eager to make purchases, especially with supplies plentiful.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine dipped to the range of RMB31-32/kg.
With imports ample and local production of methionine on the rise, prices will be under pressure.
