Mexico regards China as most important Asian export market for its pork produce
According to data released by the Mexico's Ministry of Economy, the country exports 84,500 tons of pork annually, with 50,000 tons being exported to Asian countries.
Mexico's independent daily newspaper, El Financiero reports that China is Mexico's most important Asian market, and the Mexican Pork Federation estimates that within the next five years, Mexico will be exporting 300,000 tons of pork to China.
However, the need for more Mexican pork producers to obtain the necessary licenses to export to China remains asone of the major challenges faced by the local enterprises.
