Russia meat imports down 24 percent on-year in Jan-Oct
For the first 10 months of the year, Russia imported 1.013 million tonnes of meat, down 24.2 percent on-year, according to the Federal Customs Service on Friday (Dec 4).
Import value fell to US$3.312 billion from US$4 billion in the same period last year, the service said.
Russia's poultry imports declined 25.3 percent on-year to 730,900 tonnes, while value also dipped to US$815.5 million from US$1.056 billion from last year.
Fish imports fell to 626,100 tonnes in the period from 685,500 tonnes in the previous year. Value dropped to US$1.128 billion from US$1.291 billion last year.
Last year, Russia's meat imports rose 14.2 percent on-year to 1.619 million tonnes.
