Ukraine poultry farms to receive EU inspections in 2010
European veterinaries will again inspect Ukraine's poultry meat and egg producers in the winter of 2010, according to an industry leader.
Oleksandr Bakumenko, Head of the Board of Directors of the Union of Ukrainian Poultry Farmers, said Ukrainian producers must observe the remarks earlier made by inspectors in order to enter the European market.
But no remarks had been made about Ukrainian poultry meat and egg producers this summer, he said.
There were issues linked to the harmonisation of the Ukrainian veterinary legislation with European rules, and comments about Ukrainian enterprises were made, he said.
However, those issues could be quickly solved and another series of checks are expected to take place in January to February next year, said Bakumenko, adding that the veterinary committee is already prepared for all of the remarks that were made.
