Russia issues restrictions on Polish poultry

Russian veterinary regulator imposed temporary restrictions on imports on poultry and poultry products from Poland.

Alexei Alekseyenko, Russia's veterinary regulator spokesman, told ITAR-TASS Thursday that the restrictions were introduced due to a bird flu outbreak.

The restrictions cover live birds, eggs, poultry, bird feed and used equipment for bird farms and slaughtering of birds, Alekseyenko said.

Russia's veterinary regulator is called the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight, or Rosselkhoznadzor.
