Germany to lift initial ban on Monsanto corn
Germany will lift a preliminary marketing ban on Monsanto's genetically modified corn seed MON810 in January, the country's office on consumer protection and food safety said.
The development came after the company filed a study on the environmental effects of the product, following orders from German regulators.
Agricultural minister Horst Seehofer had imposed the ban because of potential environmental risks of the MON810.
