Brazil's Beef Exports Total $2.251 Billion from Jan - Nov

Brazil's frozen beef export revenue totaled $2.251 billion from January to November, compared with $1.36 billion over the same period last year, according to Agriculture Ministry figures released Monday.

In terms of volume, January to November beef exports totaled 1.054 million tons, up 44.7% on the same period last year and more than the 802,215 tons exported over all of 2003.

In November, exports totaled 112,955 tons, which is the third largest volume of the year. Revenue was $229.02 million, also the third largest of the year.

Since September, however, the price has fallen for Brazilian beef on the international market. In November it reached $2,027/ton, the lowest since September 2003.
